Today is the first day of the Fire Horse year, and I cannot help but feel the energy of it. This combination comes around only once every 60 years in the lunar calendar, filling me with excitement and curiosity about where this year might lead.
The Fire Horse represents passion, independence, and a wild, untamed spirit that refuses to be held back. It is about boldness and inner fire, which immediately brought to mind a painting I felt drawn to add to the collection today, Borlase Cokayne as a Boy Riding Sultana by Thomas Smith of Derby.
A young boy sits confidently atop his horse, Sultana, and you can almost sense the adventure waiting ahead. It is a quiet but powerful partnership built on trust, courage, and mutual respect.
As we step into this new season, I am taking inspiration from this artwork. Its vintage surface, complete with natural cracks and aged patina, only adds to its beauty. Time has given it character, just as experience gives us wisdom.
The painting is available as a free digital download in multiple sizes, including Samsung Frame TV ratio. You can download it here, or display it for free on your TV through the Vintage Art TV YouTube channel.
